Six Automations We Use in Our Marketing Strategy

Today we’re talking about my secret weapon in marketing: automations. Marketing automations save time and effort so you can enhance customer engagement and conversions literally in your sleep. By leveraging the power of automation, you can focus on the things only you can do and let software do the rest.

The automation options available to you are endless, so I put together a list of six automations we use here at Stratos. Feel free to steal any of these, or let them inspire your own!

1. Add event registrants to our email list

Each month we host a Brunch + Learn sharing something we’ve learned or a tool we’re using lately. When people sign up to attend a Brunch + Learn, we want to make sure they get added to our email list! We use Zapier to automatically add event registrants to our email list.

2. Add leads and prospective clients to our email list

When someone requests an appointment on our website, they’re not always ready to do business with us, but we want to keep them in the pipeline for when they are! If a lead doesn’t pan out right away, we have a Zap that adds them to our email list so we can keep in touch.

3. Create checklists for repurposing long-form content

If you’ve been to our repurposing workshop, you know we turn every single blog post into 10 pieces of content. Every time we write a blog post (like this one!), we use our task management software (ClickUp) to create a to-do list for repurposing that content.

4. Deliver free resources via email

When someone signs up to receive a free resource on our website, a MailerLite automation takes over and sends the resource directly to their email. It’s like magic!

5. Create to-do lists for new projects

This one is a little more project management-esque than the others, but bear with me. There are certain tasks we do over and over again, like creating monthly social media content or drafting email campaigns. We’ve automated the to-do list process so we can focus on the creative work, not the task management.

6. Add leads from Facebook ads to our email list

Lead-generating ads are our fave, but somehow we have to get those leads from Facebook to our email list. We used to manually export them on a regular basis, but automating that process with Zapier saves us so much time!
