At Stratos, we’re big fans of repurposing content. Not only does it save you time, but it also helps make your content last longer and gain more visibility across platforms. One of the tools we love to use for this is ChatGPT. It helps us quickly turn long-form content into social media captions that engage our audience.

Here’s how we do it with ChatGPT:

Step 1: Start with a piece of long-form content.

Use a blog post, transcript from a video or podcast, or even an email you’ve written. This content is rich with information, and ChatGPT can help break it down into shorter, impactful posts.

Step 2: Input your content into ChatGPT using these prompts:

  1. “Help me create a post that invites my followers to read the blog.” This prompt will give you a quick and engaging intro post that sparks curiosity and encourages people to click through to your blog or video.
  2. “Take this blog post and pull out the three main points people can learn from it to make one social post. Make those points into short bullet points in the caption.” This is perfect for a quick, informative post that highlights the key takeaways. It’s a great way to provide value to your followers without overwhelming them with too much text.
  3. “Summarize this blog post into one caption for social media. I want people to get the gist of it without having to read it all.” Ideal for those who prefer shorter content, this caption will distill the essence of your blog into a few sentences. It grabs attention while leaving just enough to make followers curious about your full post.
  4. “Use this blog post to make a caption that focuses on the blog’s CTA. Make sure to include enough details that people understand what difference the CTA will make in their lives.” A clear call-to-action (CTA) is critical for driving engagement. This prompt helps you create a post that’s not only informative but also actionable, showing followers why they should take the next step.
  5. “Take the three points from this blog and make each one into a separate social media post. I want these to be informative.” [Surprise: this will leave you with three social posts!] It’s a fantastic way to extend the life of your content and keep your audience engaged over time.

Step 3: Review and edit your captions.

While ChatGPT is great for getting captions down fast, it’s always a good idea to give them a human touch. Make sure the tone is consistent with your brand voice, and adjust for clarity and impact.

This approach can easily turn one blog post into several days’ worth of social media content! Give it a try and let us know how it goes!!
