The Council on Alcohol and Drugs
The Problem:
The Georgia Council on Alcohol and Drugs is dedicated to preventing substance abuse and suicide across a variety of state and local programs. Their unique focus on prevention is powerful, but often misunderstood. With so many misconceptions surrounding substance use, the need for clear, consistent messaging is more important than ever.
The Council runs several programs, each serving a distinct audience:
V4P: A initiative that trains individuals to become prevention advocates.
PIPP: A prevention program focused on youth and parents in three counties.
GPI: A community-focused program in Gordon County, also centered on youth and parent outreach.
Each program needed its own targeted messaging, but keeping up with separate content strategies for each one was becoming overwhelming. With a shared love for storytelling, Stratos stepped in to support their mission. We partnered with Erika B. Marketing, who did their original messaging. Now, we help them communicate clearly and consistently across social media, while they focus on prevention that saves lives.
The Solution:
Stratos Creative Marketing partnered with the Georgia Council to understand each prevention program’s unique goals, audiences, and offerings. Together, we developed a custom social media strategy designed to meet the shared and individual needs of each program
To support their outreach, we create 20 social media posts per month. Because they house multiple programs, each with distinct messaging and audiences, we split the content strategically:
Each program receives 2–3 posts tailored specifically to its mission and audience.
The remaining posts are cross-branded, sharing unified prevention messaging that supports all three programs. This approach allows the Georgia Council to show up consistently online with content that resonates, without stretching their internal team or diluting their message.
The Success :
With social media off their plate, the Georgia Council on Alcohol and Drugs can focus fully on what matters most: running effective programs, training new advocates, and educating communities on the power of prevention. They have peace of mind knowing their messaging is reaching the right people, with each post inviting the audience into a larger story of change and impact. That clarity and consistency are paying off. As their message spreads, so does their mission. In the span of one month, engagement across their social media accounts increased by 28.57%, a sign that their content is connecting and their community is responding.
Stratos has been a huge asset to our organization. We knew social media was essential for expanding our advocacy work, but we lacked the expertise to do it well. Stratos took the time to understand our mission and created content that truly reflects our goals. Since partnering with them, our engagement and following have grown significantly, and we’ve received great feedback on our posts. Their support allows our team to focus on advocacy and event planning while knowing our online presence is in great hands.
